Philene
Principal Physiotherapist
Philene graduated from La Trobe University in BSc Physiotherapy, and started her career at Changi General Hospital (CGH), where she did her rotations in geriatrics, neuro rehab, cardiorespiratory MICU and SICU, and Singapore Sports Medicine Centre (SSMC), formerly known as Changi Sports Medicine Centre (CSMC). Having an interest in acute injuries and sports, she volunteered with the Singapore Rugby Union, women’s team, covering overseas games as well as the SEA games in 2015. After being inspired by her expat colleagues about working during ski season, she ventured out to New Zealand to work and ski, covering two winter seasons.
She is skilled in myofascial release techniques, dry needling techniques, trigger point dry needling techniques (only for clients who can take the discomfort!), anatomy trains techniques and kinesio taping.
She believes that through learning a sport, and knowing the action of a movement, she would have a good appreciation of the mechanism of injuries which may occur in her clients; and preventing injuries through strengthening, good technique and biomechanics.
